24F SM Armored MTP & MPO Trunk Cable -3.5mm

The 24F MTP trunk cable is specifically designed for harsh environment applications. Its rugged shell, reinforced with steel and aramid yarn, is 10 times stronger than standard fiber trunk cables and has a 40% higher rated range of operating temperatures. This makes it ideal for installations in challenging areas, such as floor corners or places prone to physical threats. These armored cables are also capable of protecting the fiber from damage caused by rodents like mice and ants.

Despite the fact that the armored MTP trunk cable is very strong, it still possesses the flexibility of an ordinary fiber optic patch cord that can bend without the risk of breaking. The strong nature of these cables makes them suitable for installation in some of the most risky environments characterized by excessive dust, oil, gas, moisture, among other factors that can cause damage, as well as in areas where there is a rodent threat.

Base-24 Polarity Solution

To catch up with the increased demand for higher bandwidth, 24-fiber MTP/MPO cable is introduced to facilitate migration to 100G network. It doubles the density of 12-fiber cabling in the same footprint, which reduces the fiber count, allows for fewer cable pathway, and improving airflow. The polarity maintenance of base-24 MTP/MPO cabling, however, is more complicated. OMC recommends the Type A (key-up to key-down) MTP/MPO trunk cable. With our Type A and Type AF cassette, no need for A-to-A patch cable any more. The connectivity method is illustrated in the following picture
